Privacy
Your account.
Your research.
Reader accounts store the name and email you provide, a salted password hash, and your saved reading and research. Passwords are not stored in readable form. Secure session cookies keep you signed in.
Saved work
Saved articles, research records, and model assumptions are associated with your reader account. The saved-item API checks account ownership before returning, editing, or removing a record.
Newsletters and campaign inquiries
Joining a briefing list records your email, selected briefings, and consent time. Campaign forms record the contact information and campaign details you submit. Newsletter delivery starts when the relevant briefings launch.
Howtify
Questions and the conversation context you submit to Howtify are sent to OpenAI to generate answers and, when needed, search public sources. Relevant published Moxie Report articles may be included. We request that responses are not stored as retrievable API response objects. Provider operational retention rules still apply. Answers are added to your Moxie Report account only when you choose Save answer. Do not include private credentials in a question.
External sources
Publisher links and sponsor banners take you to other websites with their own privacy practices. Some feed thumbnails are served by their original publisher. Sponsor links include Moxie Report referral tags.
Reading and Howtify activity
First-party cookies help us count visits, return sessions, successful Howtify questions, follow-ups, and saved guides. These metrics use hashed random identifiers and do not contain question text, names, email addresses, or saved-answer content. Visitor cookies last up to 30 days; session cookies expire after 30 minutes of inactivity. Reports cover a rolling 30-day window. Older activity is removed when new activity is recorded or reports are opened. Browser Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track preferences disable this activity tracking.
Operational protection
Short-lived hashed rate-limit records help protect sign-in and public forms from abuse. Editorial tools require a separately authorized editor. Account data is not included in public news responses.
