Does Black television get judged more harshly for messy characters?
With Kandi Burruss and Tabitha Brown headed to Beyond the Gates, let the characters be glamorous, difficult, funny, and wrong.

But people will still call every messy character bad representation.
Then we can argue with the criticism. We don't have to write every character to prevent it.
The argument about representation can get so loud that nobody talks about whether the episode was any good.
I want the characters to make terrible decisions. That's half the reason to watch a soap.
Thank you. A character can be wrong without the whole show becoming an argument about whether Black television deserves to exist.
