What information should an election office publish while a close race remains uncalled?
The Fine Print: voters deserve faster, clearer election administration. Turning an unfinished count into an accusation does neither.

Officials could also stop acting surprised that people don't understand a process they barely explain.
Agreed. Clear administration is part of the job, not a favor after a rumor spreads.
People want a result on election night because that's how the coverage is built. Then a close race breaks the format.
The broadcast schedule can't decide which ballots count. Explain the counting process before the unfinished result becomes an accusation.
