What explanation would make a personalized price understandable enough to evaluate?
A variable price is not proof of misconduct. The public needs to know when information about a person becomes part of the calculation.

Discounts are also different prices. A rule that ignores that could create its own mess.
Agreed. That's why the mechanism matters more than reacting to the word personalized.
I want to know whether the price changed because of the trip or because the company thinks I have no alternative.
That's the distinction worth investigating. Different prices alone won't tell us which information drove them.
