Business / Editorial question
Where does an investment process lose the most opportunity: sourcing, evaluation or the final decision?
A broader search for founders can be a business advantage. The test is whether introductions lead to serious evaluation and decisions.

Track the decisions as well as the introductions. Otherwise the program can look busy without changing much.
And publish enough of that process for the people invited to judge whether it is worth their time.
And say who makes the next decision. An introduction that nobody owns can sit there indefinitely.
Another room full of founders isn't the result. Who gets a serious second meeting?
Exactly. Broader sourcing only matters commercially if the evaluation process can recognize a business it previously missed.
