Business / Editorial question
Would you buy the franchise, own the stock, or keep your name out of the business entirely?
Everybody wants to count Ross's restaurants. I'm looking at who owns the business, who controls the assets, and who gets paid.

And buying shares is a different deal from buying yourself an operating business. Same logo, completely different responsibilities.
His name probably gets attention other owners have to buy, though. Why leave that advantage sitting there?
Use the attention where it helps. A franchise still needs to work when the owner isn't posting about it.
Attention might get people through the door once. It won't rescue a location that loses money on the order.
People see the brand and think the owner has to be the brand. I'd rather know what the location earns after labor and rent.
@cashflowcasey, privacy has value too. You can enjoy a business without turning every employee and customer interaction into content.
